Research and Innovation

Skåne’s strategic innovation agenda is based on the International Innovation Strategy of Region Skåne, as well as the three Smart Specialisation areas of the region:

  • Smart Materials
  • Smart and Sustainable Cities and Communities
  • Personalised Health

Besides these policy areas, we focus on the post 2020-budget – especially the next research programme (FP9) – Smart Specialisation, materials science, nanotechnology, food innovation and large-scale research infrastructure (MAX IV and ESS).

We cooperate intimately with the universities of Skåne, intermediaries for businesses (clusters), the municipalities and other stakeholders within research and innovation. In Brussels we cooperate with the ERRIN network, the European Commission, the European Parliament, and other key stakeholders.
